Why did Jesus come to earth? To give us an example of perfect love? Yes, but not just to provide an example. He came to serve. He met people’s needs for healing, yes- but not to serve only in that way.

Jesus came to serve humanity by telling us what our biggest problem is- by exposing our pride and showing our need for a new, undivided heart. He came to pay the debt we owe to God–which we could never pay ourselves, and he came to save us from bondage and into a life of joyful, humble, service.
