Jesus made astounding claims: “I am the bread of life; I am the light of the world; I am the good shepherd; I am the resurrection and the life” are just a few. In this message we hear how Jesus confronted the people following him because they were only after him for the food, while Jesus told them to work for food that does not spoil, “food that endures to eternal life.” John 6:27 ESV
How essential is Jesus to your everyday life, your everyday routine? Do you depend on him for life, health, and the well being of your mind and soul? Is he so essential to your life that you would metaphorically “eat his flesh and drink his blood” in order to survive? These are the things Jesus claimed, as he told the people that the bread he was going to give for the life of the world was his flesh.
If you trust that Jesus Christ died on the cross to forgive you of your sins, and he rose again to give you new, eternal life, then He is your daily bread, and you will never go hungry again.
