The culture we live in craves revenge. Some might say, “Revenge is sweet.”
But the scriptures teach the opposite of revenge: “Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense.” (Proverbs 19:11)
So if a follower of Jesus seeks to be merciful, does he or she simply overlook sin or injustice? Definitely not. Micah 6:8 clearly states that justice and mercy (or kindness) go together:
He has told you, O man, what is good;
and what does the LORD require of you
but to do justice, and to love kindness,
and to walk humbly with your God? (Micah 6:8 ESV)
Jesus said, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” (Matthew 5:7)
In this message you will learn what mercy is, and what it is not. You will also learn practical steps to live out mercy in your own life. Enjoy!
